About the Item

A small Studio Pottery dish by significant 20th century ceramicist Otto Heino. This example features the buttery yellow glaze Heino perfected after his wife’s death, a continuation of her long running project to reproduce a lost glaze recipe from Chin dynasty China. The piece has a bi-color design, yellow on one side and oyster gray on the other; the area where the glazes overlap is highlighted with a glossy black finish. Signed on underside, “Otto ‘98.”. Condition: Excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Dimensions: 6.25” width x 1.5” height.
