About the Item

A charming, handpainted terracotta lebrillo bowl from Granada, Spain (19th century)–these illustrative ceramic works collectively known as fajalauza pottery can be traced back to at least the 16th century, deeply influenced by the Moorish presence in the region. This example depicts a traditional blue & white glazed sunflower in the middle, surrounded by walls painted in a scalloped design. Perfect as a centerpiece bowl on a table or displayed on the wall using the attached wire, this antique vessel will delight in any interior. Please view the detailed images to see the current condition as there are some areas of loss and a crack to the right of the flower.
