This is a vintage handcrafted American studio art Pottery blue glazed small pitcher.
Superb pottery jug immaculate hand thrown studio ceramics artisan stoneware.
It is beautifully glazed in layers over the base brown clay body.
By using different textures, the rustic form is partly transformed and given a deep sophistication as the rich glazes layer on top of one another with blue and brown top glaze, unglazed base and some exterior. I love the combination of the speckled matte finish with the deep shine of the final layer and the handle splash glaze. It requires great skill to create this apparently simple result.
Interior and handle are glazed.
