About the Item

From the French Faïencerie de Clairfontaine, a green Majolica glazed overlapping leaf plate, circa 1880-1890. The mold shows leaves with incised veining terminating in a shaped rim. The glaze pools beautifully into the deeper recesses of the mold, with an iridescent quality. Stamped on the verso with the Clairfontaine RS Anchor. Size: 8.5 inches in diameter x 1 inch high. Good condition with a light overall crazing as expected, with deep kiln stilt marks on the verso.
