About the Item

Made by the renown English porcelain firm of Davenport, this set of ten dessert plates and five serving pieces are all hand painted with a variety of chrysanthemums and foliage. What sets this apart is the fantastic contrast of raised paste gold and white enamels on the dark, rich cobalt blue ground. The quality and skill of the artist is immediately apparent and the flowers just pop in a striking and dramatic way, looking almost three-dimensional. The set is comprised of ten dessert plates, four low foot compotes and one tall compote creating a versatile and impressive display and of course, a perfectly gorgeous dessert service.
