About the Item
Vintage dinnerware service for 8 (40 pieces total) designed and manufactured in Taxco Mexico by Emilia Castillo.
From the Lagartija y Libelulas collection, originally designed for the "Madeiras" Restaurant in Acapulco Guerrero.
Emilia Castillo developed the technique of fusing porcelain and silver during this time.
The restaurant was opened by Emilia Castillo and her family in the late 1970's.
The set consist of 8 dinner plates, 8 salad plates, 8 soup bowls, 8 saucer plates and 8 coffee/tea cups.
A total of 40 pieces.
All of the pieces are signed Emilia Castillo and are numbered.
The Emilia Castillo is now copyrighted in the US as well as Mexico.
Measurements:
Dinner Plates: 11.50 inches in diameter.
Salad plates: 9.50 inches in diameter.
Soup Bowls: 6 7/8 inches in diameter x 1 7/8 inches high.
Saucer Plates: 7.25 inches in diameter.
Cups: 3 7/8 inches in diameter x 4.75 inches deep (with handle) x 2.50 inches high.
