French Elite Limoges Porcelain Rose Oyster Plate
About the Item
An Elite Limoges porcelain oyster plate, France, circa 1890.
Decorated with running garlands of pink and red roses, along with lesser garlands of lighter colored petaled flowers, this five-well oyster has a gilded shaped rim.
The center well is raised to hold a dipping sauce or lemons. Decorative mold work to the center well.
Brightly colored and good clean white porcelain.
9 inches in diameter x 1 inch H
Marked: Elite Limoges, Limoges France
A shallow sliver to the rear rim, not seen on the front – most likely from a plate hanger.
