About the Item

1960 ceramic plate made by Otello De Maria, depicting the Salvi Gardens and the Torrione di Piazza Castello, Vicenza, in the background. Otello De Maria is among the most representative figures of twentieth-century Vicenza painting and was a teacher for more than fifty years at the Vicenza School of Arts and Crafts, proving himself at the same time to be a sensitive artist and attentive to innovations. The object is produced for the ICV Vicenza Ceramics industry. It bears the original stamp on the back of the plate. On the edge of the depiction, however, is the inscription "Giardini Salvi, Vicenza" and the artist's signature. The plate has a diameter of 34 cm and a depth of 2.5 cm. A piece suitable for collectors and art ceramic enthusiasts, combining traditional Italian craftsmanship with the celebration of an architectural icon. The state of preservation is good.
