About the Item

4 Art Deco Heisey Glass 'Stanhope' Cups & Saucers, by Walter Von Hessen A.H. Heisey Company was formed in Newark, Ohio, in 1895, closed in 1957 Pattern - Stanhope by Heisey Discontinued 1936 - 1937 This set of four Art Deco Heisey Glass 'Stanhope' cups and saucers is a beautiful example of vintage glassware. The cups and saucers were made by the A.H. Heisey Glass Company, which was established in Newark, Ohio, in 1895 and closed in 1957. The 'Stanhope' pattern was designed by Walter Von Hessen and is named after Lady Stanhope, the owner of the Stanhope Diamond. This rare pattern was produced for only one year, from 1936 to 1937, making these cups and saucers particularly special and collectible. Each cup and saucer set in the 'Stanhope' pattern epitomizes elegant glassware. The cups feature a draped design, which adds a sense of fluidity and grace to their overall appearance. The black handles provide a striking contrast and enhance the Art Deco aesthetic of the pieces. The cups measure approximately 4 inches in width, 3.75 inches in diameter, and 3 inches in height. The saucers have a diameter of 5.5 inches and a height of 3 inches. These measurements make them a standard size for tea or coffee service. This set of 'Stanhope' cups and saucers combines the beauty of Heisey glassware with the distinctive Art Deco design. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are evident in the draped pattern and the quality of the glass. Overall, these 'Stanhope' cups and saucers are a desirable addition to any vintage glassware collection. They capture the elegance and style of the Art Deco era, and their rarity adds to their appeal. Whether used for serving beverages or displayed as decorative pieces, they are sure to make a statement with their unique design and historical significance. Overall Measurements: Cups 4-inches wide x 3.75 -inch diameter x 3. cups 4 w 3.75 dia saucer 5.5 dia 3 h.
