Blue Chalice with Murano Glass and 24-Carat Gold, 1980s, Italy
About the Item
Italian blue chalice with Murano glass and 24-carat gold, 1980s.
This elegant Venetian chalice was entirely handmade with blown Murano glass, in a beautiful blue color and a particular shape. The base and the lower stem, composed of two balls of different sizes, are decorated by a wavy pattern that continues up the stem, creating an interesting movement all along the chalice. Between the base and the cup there is a beautiful circle that ends up twisted and coiled. The two balls and the circle have some lovely touches of sunken gold. The cup has a nice ondulated edge, that recalls the wavy pattern of the lower parts.
This creation was made in Murano Island in the 1980s and is still in perfect condition, as documented in the attached photos.
