French 19th Century Glass Fly Catcher
About the Item
A unique handmade fly catcher, of mouth-blown clear glass from France, 19th century. The basin at the bottom of the glass cone is meant to be filled with a small amount of sugar water to lure the flies in. Three small feet lift the vessel from the table for the flies to enter, whereas the opening at the top would have been corked to trap them in.
