About the Item
We kindly suggest that you read the whole description, as with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects.
Pretty and particular small basket in colored opaline glass; made between 1965 and 1970, it was blown in one piece without joints, then shaped with mastery by skilled and creative Master Glassmakers in an artisanal furnace in Murano (Italy); The most difficult and particular operation was to leave the opaline white on the outside of the object and make the inner part with other colorations; metal oxides were added to obtain the different colors when the draft of the white opaline basket had already left the furnace, at the precise moment when the oxides began to melt and amalgamate with the white, the craftsman began the blowing and shaping of the basket by also stretching the glass to form the handles and join them, he did this quickly and quickly, so that the colors were distributed only on the surface of the object without penetrating, as if they were brushstrokes, then put the basket back in the kiln for a very short time and then proceeded to cool quickly; an operation that not everyone is able to do, in fact it is delegated only to Master Glassmakers; the basket was then taken to the milling department where expert artisans proceeded to sand, finish and finally polish it; a small work of art created with magical mastery and unparalleled skill by a great Master Craftsman in a magical, fascinating and artistic place: a handcrafted furnace in Murano. The making of this object confirms to us that the Venetian aptitude, celebrated over the centuries, for glassmaking is an alchemical combination of liquid matter worked out by artisan intelligence with happy artistic intuitions. Measures diameter cm.21, height cm.18. The basket is in good condition. What may appear to be small defects inside or outside the glass (bubbles, lumps, streaks, etc)are instead evidence of craftsmanship and not the result of modern mold operations. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.

Massive and distinctive Murano glass ashtray has a strong line, with sharp, decisive cuts and very accentuated edges; the colors red (obtained with gold chloride) and yellow(obtained with a mixture of sulfur and cadmium) combine with harmony and precision. The ashtray was created between 1964 and 1968, in a small furnace in Murano (Italy) run by former Master Glassmakers of the Mandruzzato company who made the ashtray following the company's own style and using precisely the "vetro sommerso...

Murano Glass Italian Empty Pockets (Tray) Round "Incamiciato"

We kindly suggest that you read the entire description, as with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to ensure the authenticity of our objects.
Round Murano glass empty pockets (or tray); the design is essential but well-proportioned and elegant; pleasingly aesthetic is the effect of the two colors that artisans have managed to achieve with skill and mastery. This object was made by Murano masters using the technique of "incamiciatura," which consists of superimposing, as an initial process, on the glass mass that came out of the furnace, one or more successive layers of glass of different colors; in our object to the light blue, almost transparent glass mass, only the blue color was superimposed by immersing the white form just sketched in a crucible containing the blue molten glass. Then the Master glassmaker put the whole thing back in the furnace for a few minutes and then blew into the special barrel, helping himself with pliers and working it by hand he gave the pot emptier the desired shape shaping also the central decoration, even adding a thread of blue glass all along the edge, this operation was done flat, therefore much more difficult to make the two colors blend, the object was made entirely by hand and without the use of molds or models, thus creating a unique piece, just like a work of art. The earliest records of this technique concern Benedetto Barbaria, who in 1815 made "glass blown in two layers of enamel.". The object was created between 1970 and 1973 in Murano (Venice-Italy). As can be seen from the engraving on the rim, the pocket blank is a limited edition item; it is No. 34 of 150 pieces made, which, being all handmade, show differences from one another. Unfortunately, we cannot decipher the name of the design that created it for the Murano company Effe Due...
