Pair Antique Grape Vine Engraved and Etched Glass Carafes
About the Item
A fine antique pair English glass carafes decorated with engraved and acid etched fruiting vines dating from the 19th century. The carafes stand on a wide round base with bulbous shaped bodies and narrow tall necks with simple flared tops. The carafes are made in clear glass and similarly decorated with trailing grape vines which have been finely engraved with acid etched detail to leaves and stems. The bases are also engraved with petalled flowers with acid etching. The carafes are not marked.
Provenance: Acquired from the UK Art Market.
Offered in good condition with wear associated with age and use with customary wear particularly to the bases.
