About the Item

Very rare pair of Moser glass finger bowls made c1900 probably originating from a unique large dinner service -the clear bowls are etched with a traditional woodland scene all round the bowl -with trees, bushes and grass around a lake, additionally each bowl is decorated with a deeply raised (effectively 3D) enamelled Mallard Duck in flight which is polychrome enamelled in natural colours. The Ducks appear to be made of some kind of enamellers plaster. Moser did a number of well documented and important vases with similar raised applied birds like this but this is the only time we have seen them decorating part of a dinner service. Moser is one of the greatest Bohemian glass makers of all time and in 2017 celebrated its 160th anniversary.
