About the Item
This is designer Christian Vivanco's first collaboration with Ánfora, Mexico's leading manufacturer of glazed ceramics.
It's a small pitcher inspired by the work of Uruguayan poet Mario Benedetti:
“Porque te tengo y no, porque te pienso
porque la noche está de ojos abiertos
porque la noche pasa y digo amor
porque has venido a recoger tu imagen
y eres mejor que todas tus imágenes
porque eres linda desde el pie hasta el alma
porque eres buena desde el alma a mí
porque te escondes dulce en el orgullo
pequeña y dulce, corazón coraza”
"Because I have you and I don't, because I think of you
because the night is open-eyed
because the night passes and I say love
because you have come to collect your image
and you are better than all your images
because you are beautiful from your feet to your soul
because you are good from your soul to me
because you hide sweetly in pride
small and sweet, armored heart"

Christian Vivanco
Christian Vivanco is a Mexican designer with an intense passion for design that expresses his own identity nourished by history and locality. He deeply believes in the dialogue between contemporary design and ancestral crafts in order to build authentic and unique creations. He naturally bets on all his projects for what is handmade, collaborating with master artisans, artists and creatives from different disciplines and origins, contributing to the creation of a material culture for the future. In 2020 he founded Balsa, a parallel project from which he explores in depth the relationship between design and the weaving of natural fibers with ancestral Mexican techniques. In 2021 he establishes Perso, an intimate and personal project from which he develops pieces of pure exploration. Christian's work has been exhibited at Salone del Mobile in Milan, Design Museum in London, Tokyo Design Week, Maison & Objet in Paris and I.C.F.F. in New York, among many other design capitals, as well as having been regularly published in magazines such as Wallpaper, Elle Decor, Architectural Digest, The Financial Times, Domus, Dezeen, WGSN, among many others. Christian currently lives and works in Mexico City.
