Mason's Ironstone Jug or Pitcher in Jardiniere Pattern, Georgian Circa 1818

About the Item
This is a rare early Jug or Pitcher in a rare shape, hand painted in the Jardiniere pattern, made by Mason's Ironstone, Lane Delph, England and dating to circa 1818.
The pattern is hand painted with typical bold free flowing enamels of cobalt blue, blue, and burnt orange, all in varying shades and with additional hand gilded highlights. This pattern is one of Mason's earliest designs called "Jardiniere", as illustrated on page 146 of a guide to Mason's patent ironstone patterns, circa 1813-1848, published by The Mason's Collectors' Club.
This jug is fully marked to the base, with one of Mason's earliest impressed marks, stating: MASONS PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA in two lines.
