A pair of elegant Antique solid Silver Sauce Boats / Gravy Jugs each with a pair of everted spouts. The understated Gravy Boats are made in the style of early 18th century George I Sauce Boats from c. 1720. These Sauce Boats have a good weight. Made in London in 1908 & 1909 by CJ Vander (Henry & Arthur Vander) Approx. Total Weight - 1136g Approx. Length - 20.7cm Approx. Width incl. Handles - 18.7cm Approx. Height - 10.2cm Each Gravy Jug has a full English Hallmark. This pair of Sauce Boats is in excellent condition with no damage. STOCK CODE - COND01 DIN01.

An exceptional, fine and impressive, antique William IV English sterling silver cream jug; an addition to our silver teaware collection. This exceptional antique sterling silver cream jug has an baluster shaped form onto a domed pedestal and an octagonal shaped spreading foot. The body of this silver cream jug is embellished with embossed floral ornamentation accented with scrolling leaf designs and panels of scale textures. The decoration to the body incorporates a scroll bordered and features a vacant cartouche to one side. The lower portion of the body encompassed with the contemporary engraved inscription 'Presented by the South Devon Agricultural Society to Richard Anthony for the best managed Farm under 150 acres'. The rim of this 1830s cream jug is embellished with an applied alternating shell decorated border. This fine example of antique silverware is fitted with an impressive cast antique mystical fish decorated handle ornamented with scale decoration. The domed circular portion of the foot is encircled with a band of floral and scrolling leaf decoration. The interior of this antique silver cream jug retains the original gilding. Condition This antique 1830s cream jug is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The applied and chased decoration is very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the spout have wear in keeping with age and location; the maker’s mark has wear but remains legible. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of antique silverware.
