About the Item
This medium-sized platter features the iconic "Blue Asiatic Pheasants" pattern—one of the most enduring and beloved designs in English pottery.
First introduced in 1862, this timeless pattern is most notably produced by Burleigh Pottery, which has been handcrafting ceramics at Middleport Pottery in Stoke-on-Trent since 1889.
Delicately detailed pheasants and intricate floral motifs are printed in a soft, serene blue using the traditional tissue transfer printing method—where patterns are hand-transferred from engraved copper rollers, preserving the artistry of 19th-century techniques. A favourite among collectors and lovers of classic English tableware, the Blue Asiatic Pheasants pattern is available across a wide range of forms, including plates, jugs, bowls, and cups.
