About the Item

Confit Pot in a Classic Mustard Glaze that magically seems to magically blend into almost all decors. French Confit pots were used in the late 1800's until the early 1900's to preserve food, in particular those fatty meats, like goose or duck. The word "confit" derives from the verb confire, meaning "to preserve". The Country French Confit pots were half-glazed around the top and left raw Terracotta on the bottom so they could be covered in fabric and buried in the earth to the glaze line.
