About the Item

Glazed terracotta jug, southern France, early 20th century. Ovoid shape with a long narrow neck and a handle, used to serve water or wine. Partially glazed on the top, around the neck and handle, the bottom is natural terracotta. The neck is slightly slanted, as is the entire jug from certain angles, which gives it a lot of charm and reflects its handcrafted nature. The combination of the dark green glaze and the terracotta forms a beautiful colour combination typical of the south of France, but it is difficult to give a precise provenance. A decorative object in the kitchen or dining room, it can also be used for its original purpose on your table! (Quote for postage available with your country and postcode)
