About the Item

A nice early Massive Majolica L’Antica Deruta Charger or platter. It is of of the largest platters we have seen at 33.5 inches across. It is signed on the back. It depicts some allegorical characters, likely Romeo and Juliet or two other Renaissance nobles. It is in good condition and shows some age. There is some crackling to the glaze and a few minor flake chips to the rim which are pictured.
