19th Century French Silver Coffee Pot - Circa 1800

About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive, large antique French silver coffee pot. This exceptional antique French silver coffee pot has a plain elongated baluster form. The large body of the antique French coffee pot is plain an encircled with a chased decorated band of tiered leaf ornamentation to the lower portion of the waisted neck, in addition to a bead decorated border to the upper portion. This antique coffee pot is fitted with a hallmarked domed hinged cover encircled with palmette style leaf ornamentation to the rim. The domed portion of the cover is encircled with a simplified engraved laurel leaf design, surmounted by the original and impressive cast silver finial. This fine example of antique teaware retains the impressive and original carved painted wood handle accented with a silver rosette to the upper terminal. This antique coffee pot is further embellished with cast swan necked spout ornamented with an exceptional creature/dragon design to the tip of the spout. This fine example of French silverware is supported by three impressive cast and applied legs accented with paw feet and impressive large leaf designs to the sockets; the socket of one leg continues to the lower terminal of the handle. This exceptional antique French coffee pot is a large example for its type. Condition This antique coffee pot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The interior of the coffee pot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use. The chased decoration is very sharp and the engraved ornamentation is very crisp. The French guarantee, standard and maker's hallmarks struck to the underside of the coffee pot, in addition to the surface of the body and cover are all very clear. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Russian silver drinks tray; an addition to our ornamental Russian silverware collection. This fine antique Russian silver tray has an oval shaped form. The surface of the drinks tray is embellished with engraved floral and foliate sprays incorporating eight circular vacant cartouches subdivided by rosette designs. The ornamentation to the tray encompasses a large vacant circular cartouche. The raised rounded border is ornamented with applied moulded decoration to the rim. This impressive Russian silver tray is fitted with a plain rounded hallmarked handle to either end. The hallmarks struck to the underside of this tray include: Maker's mark: ?.?.?
