About the Item

A beautiful silver plate Revere Bowl by Reed & Barton. The bowl is footed and features an enameled green interior. The exterior on the front of the dish is engraved with: Best Wishes Matt 7-31-81 Roger, Jack, Randy Fran. Robett We speculate that this bowl was engraved to celebrate a milestone such as a wedding, baptism, or promotion. It could also be a trophy of some sort. The bottom is engraved with the Reed & Bartin stamp and the original sticker. This bowl will be fabulous when added to a collection of other engraved pieces. It could also be used as a fruit bowl on a dining or breakfast table or a catchall for keys and wallets. We just love the idea of something storied on display! One interesting fact about this piece is the date in which it was gifted. During this time period in Oklahoma, the oil bust was affecting most of the state. Many involved in the industry were left penniless. So to see a gift such as this given to someone is extraordinary. Dimensions: 8" Diameter 4" Tall
