French ART NOUVEAU Silver-Plated Crumb Brush and Pan Set by Victor Saglier

About the Item

French Art Nouveau Silver-Plated Crumb Brush and Pan Set by Victor Saglier Brush length 34cm, pan width 22cm. This beautiful Art Nouveau crumb brush and pan set, crafted in silver plate by Victor Saglier, is an elegant example of the period’s iconic design. Known for his contributions to the Art Nouveau movement, Saglier’s works are celebrated for their intricate, organic motifs, which often feature flowing lines and naturalistic elements. Saglier was a prominent French silversmith active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, renowned for his craftsmanship in silverware and decorative objects. The set is in excellent condition, with approximately 95% of the original silver plating intact, showing only minor blemishes from age, which adds character to the piece. The brush is fitted with horse hair bristles, ideal for gently sweeping crumbs, while the pan is perfectly shaped to collect them. Both pieces are beautifully decorated with embossed tulips and flowing stems, capturing the essence of Art Nouveau’s love for nature and curvilinear design. The delicate, floral embossing on both the brush and pan is a testament to Saglier’s refined attention to detail. This set is a charming and functional example of Art Nouveau design, offering both aesthetic beauty and practicality. It would make a stunning addition to any collection of period silverware or as a unique decorative piece for a stylish home.
