About the Item

A scarce sterling silver ladle, manufactured by Ball, Black & Co., New York, circa 1851-1874. Offered individually, a pair may be available. The handle shows a leaf motif with a cartouche. The bowl is shaped distinctively for serving oyster meat or oyster stew, but these ladles will serve any type of soup or stew beautifully. The versos of the handles are monogramed as shown, also with the makers stamp. Total weight: 1.96 oz.t. each Excellent antique condition with un-polished patina.
