20th Century Made in Italy Sterling Silver Jug
About the Item
Fully handmade medieval style solid sterling silver jug. The body is oval and shaped embossed grooves. The base, separated from the rest of the body by a bushing, is round with the same design.
The handle has been worked in checkering on the inside and embossed on the outside.
The proportions of the design are perfect and exactly follow the Florentine style of the late Middle Ages.
Italian silverware, already with a centuries-old tradition, had a great development in the twentieth century and produced pieces of the highest quality that the whole world envies. Italian craftsmanship had a kind of new Renaissance after the war.
A great many high-quality silverware was born where exceptional pieces were produced that now decorate the most prestigious houses.
