About the Item

This antique sterling silver Christening cup was made in England in approximately 1848 in the period Early Victorian style. The front of this sterling cup is ornately decorated with a detailed vignette of three boys in a forest playing with spinning tops. The cup sits on heavily cast scrolled feet and is monogrammed on the side of the cup near the top of the handle. The cup is clearly hallmarked and numbered on the base and is a sturdy heavy casting with an approximate total weight of two hundred and twenty one grams.
