Antique Silver Cup JAPANESE KORO COVER - Engraved Cup with Enamel20th century
About the Item
Antique silver cup or Decorative Japanese cup, pressed, cast and chased. Circular, curved feet with hinged. Tested with the scratch test.
Decorated with peacock motifs in relief, side-mounted mythical animal handles, and shishi with a brocade ball as a lid topping. on three tall, slightly concave legs with macarons, floor mark, height approx. 23.5 cm, B. with handles approx. 17 cm, weight approx. 1735 g. All-encompassing C-curves in relief, latticework, rocailles, tendrils of flowers and matching cartouches.
This impressive Japanese silver koro with enamel, lacquer and shibayama style decoration of birds amongst blossom and flower displays. The cover is topped with a silver lion-type dragon knop. Signed in Japanese letters, this piece is in excellent condition and is highly collectable.
In a beautifully excellent condition minor scratches.
