An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver cup and cover made by Omar Ramsden; an addition to our diverse presentation silverware collection This exceptional, fine and impressive antique silver cup and cover has a tapering cylindrical bell shaped form onto a circular knopped pedestal and domed circular foot. The tapering hallmarked surface of this George V cup has a planished finish and bears the contemporary engraved presentation inscription: 'I was wrought by Omar Ramsden for Consul General E.G Sahlin at the wish of the Council of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in London to mark their appreciation of his great services and as a gift on the 50th anniversary of his birthday Jan 9th MCMXXIX' This impressive antique silver planished cup is fitted with a plain swept push fit cover surmounted with an impressive cast silver finial modelled in the form of the Paschal lamb, carrying St. George's flag*. The circular pedestal features four impressive cast opposing scroll brackets, conjoining the varied emanating knops and the lower portion of the vessel. The cast knopped pedestal surmounts an impressive circular domed base, encompassed with a cast bead and spindle decorated border the rim. This exceptional antique silver planished cup was crafted by the collectable and renowned silversmith Omar Ramsden and bears the Latin engraving 'Omar Ramsden Me Fecit' - Omar Ramsden made me to the underside. * This finial can be associated to the regimental badge for 'The Queen’s Royal Regiment (West Surrey), the 2nd of Foot'; with omittance of the lamb's halo. This was England's oldest infantry Regiment formed in 1661 and through time was amalgamated with others to form the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment (Queen's and Royal Hampshires). Condition This antique cup and cover is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the cup and part hallmarks to the cover are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver. A magnificent, fine and impressive, large antique Edwardian English sterling silver cup & cover; an addition to our antique presentation silverware collection. This magnificent and large antique Edwardian sterling silver presentation cup and cover has a Campania shaped form onto a circular spreading pedestal foot. The lower bulbous portion of the silver cup is encircled with chased fluted ornamentation. Either side of the plain upper portion of the body of this cup is embellished with an exceptional and large applied ribbon tied laurel branch wreath, replicating the border of a classic cartouche. This impressive Edwardian presentation cup retains the impressive, original hallmarked push fit cover surmounted with an exceptional, fine and impressive cast sterling silver overlapping leaf and bud style finial. The rim of this substantial cover is encompassed with an impressive applied egg and dart decorated border. This antique cup and cover is fitted with two very impressive cast sterling silver handles modelled in the form of conjoined snakes, above a figural mask and Caduceus. The pedestal is encompassed with a shaped alternating leaf decorated knop to the upper portion in junction with the body. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique German sterling silver cup and cover; an addition to our antique presentation silverware collection. This exceptional antique German sterling silver cup & cover has a bulbous circular shaped form onto a shaped pedestal foot. The lobed body of the cup is embellished with chased decorated scenes incorporating: a putto raising a glass and playing a musical instrument, a stag, a unicorn and an elephant. The upper portion of the body is encompassed with a paralleling cast and applied stylised rope twist border, accented with a collet set round faceted cut gemstone to each incurve, with a scrolling leaf decorated bracket to the underside. This impressive presentation cup retains the original hallmarked cover, ornamented with a continuation of the leaf bracket to each incurve, in addition to a reflection of chased decorated scenes. The cover is surmounted with an exceptional cast figural finial comprised of a putto figure holding a glass and cluster of grapes, sat to a large plain ball.
