Art Deco Period Chinese Export Sterling Silver Cocktail Shaker

$2,200

About

Sterling silver, Art Deco Period, Chinese Export cocktail shaker, China, Ca. 1920's, KL - maker's mark. Retailed at Guang Li in Shanghai. Measures 8 1/2 inches high (at highest point) x 3 1/2 inches diameter (at widest point). Weighs 8.150 Troy ounces. An etched, full dragon winds its way around the lid of the shaker. The shaker itself is decorated with flowers and leaves around its upper portion. Chinese letters adorn the top of the lid and there is also an interlocking English cypher monogram (WI?) that blends in with the design, as the monogram is difficult to read. There are some minor dints (see photos) that are commensurate with age and use. Dark areas on sterling silver in photos are reflections. In very good antique condition.
