Art Nouveau Carafe, Green Glass with Opaline & Silver Mount, Porto, Around 1900
About the Item
Carafe made of green glass with cryolite inclusions (opaline) in the shape of feathered leaves, with a conical body that swings out slightly at the bottom on a round, flush stand, beak spout, opposite attached glass handle, silver fittings above the handle and attached to the jug opening with hinged lid with floral decoration and central holding knob, protruding and curved lever device with thumb rest.
