About the Item
Description
George II sterling silver tankard, Joseph Jackson, Dublin, 1749. Slightly flared body with circular base and a wavy, chiseled decoration along the underside. Domed, hinged lid with grooves and shell and bead motifs. Elaborate, curved handle with pearly ribbing. Leafy curl grip. Coat of arms engraved on the side of the body, with heraldic shield and motto.
