About the Item
This gorgeous vintage crystal and sterling silver signed Italian Giovani Ottaviani decanter has an abstract large sterling silver horse head as the stopper. From every direction the stopper of the horse head is varied. It is signed Ottaviani 800-studio Ottaviani. It is signed differently in 3 places, on the stopper, on the bottom of the crystal and the side of the decanter. It is from the 1970s. Ottaviani is a very fine and well known jewelry and silver firm that has been in business, since 1945- now and contemporary. They are located in a small seaside town in Recanti, Italy. It was during the decades of the 1950s through the 1970s that most of their most coveted interesting design work was done in both enamel and silver combination. This is a very special decanter no doubt. It is obscure and hard to find now. It is fantastic barware and a chic and great addition to any table setting. Sorry the photos do not do justice to the specialness of this piece. This is special Italian barware and will be fabulous on your bar or buffet. The detail work on the sterling silver head in the form of abstractions of a horse head is amazing.
