An Israeli Silver Amulet, Rare Judaica Amulet from Israel, 1936

About the Item

This rare and meaningful silver amulet, crafted in the Land of Israel in 1936, beautifully reflects the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Jewish people during a pivotal moment in modern history. Circular in shape and meticulously engraved, the amulet is bordered by the names of the twelve months of the Hebrew calendar—symbolizing the cycle of sacred time and divine protection throughout the year. Each month is rendered in fine, careful script, encircling the central motif in a harmonious and continuous design. At the heart of the amulet lies a Star of David (Magen David), the enduring symbol of Jewish identity and unity. At its center is the word "ציון" ("Zion"), a deeply resonant term evoking the spiritual essence of Jerusalem and the yearning for Jewish restoration in the land of Israel. Uniquely, the Hebrew date of the amulet’s creation is distributed across the six points of the star, embedding the artifact with both temporal and spiritual significance. A solid loop at the top allows the amulet to be worn as a pendant, keeping its protective and symbolic power close to the wearer. More than a piece of jewelry, this amulet is a profound expression of faith, time, and nationhood—an early and rare example of Israeli Judaica made during the British Mandate era, just years before the founding of the modern State of Israel. It is a testament to enduring Jewish devotion and artistry rooted in tradition and history. .26ozt
