Mid-20th Century English Sterling Silver Vanity Set by Charles S. Green & Co Ltd, Birmingham 1947 An elegant and finely made English sterling silver vanity or dressing table set, fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1947, by the distinguished maker Charles S. Green & Co Ltd. This complete set comprises eight original pieces: a hand mirror, hairbrush, clothes brush, tortoiseshell-effect comb, pin tray, nail scissors, file, and cuticle tool. Each piece is beautifully decorated with engraved foliate scrollwork, and all are housed in their original black tooled leather case with silk and velvet interior. The craftsmanship is evident in the crisp engraving, high-quality silverwork, and the harmonious form of each tool. The mirror remains clear; the bristles are clean and firm. The comb has two missing teeth, otherwise the set is in very good condition for its age. A fine post-war silver set for collectors, gifting, or practical use.
