About the Item
This pair of candelabra was recently purchased from the son of the original owner, probably purchased sometime in the 1950's.
This candelabrum was designed by Georg Jensen himself in 1920. It is one of the more important Art Deco candelabrum ever produced by the Georg Jensen Company and should be part of any true collection.
The Octopus is of a very large scale and is quite massive in terms of weight. It looks fantastic as a single on a circular table or as a pair or set of 3 or 4 down the middle of a very large table. These are big and definitely need space.
Both impressive and imposing, the amount of detail in each candelabrum is not seen in most candelabra of this size. We currently have 3 of these available.
New from the Georg Jensen Company, each candelabrum retails for $72,000. In June 2007, a pair of these made $90,000 in auction.
