Pair of Puiforcat 19th Century French Sterling Silver Centerpiece Stands Dishes

About the Item

Emile Puiforcat, 19th century, French, sterling silver centerpiece stand with exquisite decorations near the rims and on the base. It measures 6'' in height by 9 1/2'' in diameter, weighs 19.2 ozt, and bears hallmarks as shown. Founded in 1820 by Emile Puiforcat, the Parisian family workshop has passed down its renowned silverwork mastery from one generation to the next. It was the visionary leadership and artistic talent of Jean E. Puiforcat, the fourth generation in the workshop, that truly brought the world’s attention to Puiforcat; his design legacy was a significant contribution to the studio, and in turn a major contribution to the international Art Deco movement of his time.
