About the Item

This exquisite and rare brooch, crafted by the Bezalel School in Jerusalem during the 1950s, is a masterwork of Israeli Judaica artistry. Executed in fine silver filigree and vivid hand-painted enamel, the piece exemplifies the refined craftsmanship and rich symbolism for which Bezalel creations are so highly regarded. The brooch is built around a central enamel medallion, set within an ornate crown-like silver bezel. The enamel is painted in a vibrant palette of deep reds, blues, and greens, harmonized with delicate white floral detailing. Intricately segmented into geometric panels, the design forms a radiant Star of David at its heart. Within this star, two graceful birds—resembling peacocks in hues of sapphire blue and chestnut red—face one another in a tender pose, their beaks just slightly touching as they nestle within a blossoming garden. This central motif conveys a feeling of affection, serenity, and spiritual harmony. Encircling the enamel centerpiece are two concentric borders of meticulously twisted rope-like silver filigree. Between these borders are alternating filigree rosettes and warm orange-toned beads, each hand-set to form a rhythmic and elegant frame around the brooch. The combination of organic materials and silverwork evokes both the aesthetic and ideological ethos of early Israeli art, merging ancient forms with modern expression. The reverse of the brooch features a smooth, domed silver backing fitted with a secure pin mechanism, allowing it to be worn on clothing. Additionally, a decorative filigree loop at the top enables the brooch to be threaded onto a chain and worn as a pendant, offering versatility as both a personal adornment and a statement piece. A striking fusion of symbolism, artistic expression, and cultural heritage, this Bezalel brooch is not only a rare collectible but a wearable testament to post-statehood Israeli craftsmanship. .79ozt Marked at reverse Bezalel, Jerusalem 935

Antique Iranian Silver Amulet – Fine Judaica from Persia
Located in New York, NY
This exceptional antique silver amulet from Iran exemplifies the refined craftsmanship and spiritual depth of Persian Jewish heritage. Shaped in an elegant, lobed diamond form with delicately contoured edges, the amulet is engraved with intricate detail, reflecting both artistic sophistication and religious devotion. At the center, a stylized cartouche is inscribed with Hebrew text, likely invoking divine names or protective blessings — a hallmark of traditional Jewish amulets. Surrounding the central panel, a beautifully flowing engraved border in the form of a pointed arch or mihrab motif lends the piece a sacred architectural presence, often interpreted as a symbolic gateway to divine protection. Further floral and foliate elements are engraved into the design, subtly blending nature with mysticism. Additional Hebrew inscriptions encircle the inner medallion and appear along the edges, each rendered in clean, carefully etched lines. The amulet features four suspension loops — one at each cardinal point — suggesting it may have once been sewn onto clothing, hung in a home, or worn as a protective charm close to the body. Rich in symbolism and cultural meaning, this rare Iranian silver...
