About the Item
An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver porringer; an addition to our silver presentation collection
This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver porringer and cover has a plain baluster shaped form onto a circular collet foot.
The surface of this Edwardian silver porringer has a planished finish and is embellished with an embossed bordered oval vacant cartouche to either side.
The lower portion of the body is encircled with fine and impressive embossed leaf designs and the upper rim is encompassed with a plain applied moulded border.
This porringer retains the original domed push fit hallmarked cover encircled with further embossed decoration, reflecting the designs to the body.
This fine cup is fitted with two impressive opposing scroll handles embellished with leaf ornamentation to the upper and lower portion of each handpiece.
The underside of the porringer bears the retailer's mark 'Searle & Co, 78 & 79 Lombard ST, London' in addition to the full hallmarks.
Condition
This antique Edwardian silver porringer and cover is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The porringer has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The embossed decoration is all very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the porringer and cover are very clear.

These fine antique George III sterling silver salts have a plain rounded oval form to an oval pedestal foot.
The surface of each salt is encircled with a plain applies girdle above the contemporary engraved initials 'EPC'.
The oval feet and upper rims of these impressive examples of Georgian silverware are encircled with applied thread decorated borders.
These antique salts, crafted by the renowned London silversmith Henry Chawner, have gilded interiors.

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Charles II English sterling silver porringer; part of our collectable silverware collection.
This exceptional antique Charles II sterling silver porringer has a circular rounded form onto a collet base.
The surface of the porringer is embellished with an impressive chased hunting hound to one side and a stag to the other, all amidst large foliate designs and incorporating pinstruck swirl designs.
This English silver porringer is fitted with two impressive cast, leaf decorated S-scroll handles with elevated figural shaped thumbpieces.
Note: After surviving the Great Fire of London the records at the London Assay office were destroyed by fire in 1681; their catalogues and documentation began again in 1697. Due to this unfortunate event we are unable to associate a maker to this porringer.
