Jenner & Knewstub Silver Oiler. A wonderful Victorian silver Banjo shape oiler with thumb squirt action. A fantastic piece of vintage motoring ephemera, the perfect gift for the car enthusiast who thinks he has everything! The mundane garage oiler of the Golden Age of automobiles turned into something of beauty, a silver hallmarked oiler with cap and chain. Hallmarked London 1875 with silversmith mark 'HW'. The banjo oiler is also engraved 'Jenner & Knewstub, 33 st. James's & 66 Jermyn St'. A great stand alone piece or the start of an automobilia can collection. This exceptional antique George IV cast sterling silver vinaigrette is realistically modelled in the form of a cornucopia. The cast silver horn-shaped cornucopia container is encompassed with bands of ribbed decoration, accented with a spiralling terminal. The rim of the horn is further embellished with a cast leaf decorated border. The upper portion of the horn is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover embellished with an embossed and chased floral bouquet design.
