Silver basket on a round foot, openwork silver with acanthus leaves. The edge and the handle with pearl edge decorated. On the base and engraving of a crest (an arm with an ax in hand).

This extremely fine George III neoclassical antique sterling silver bread basket was made in Sheffield in 1777 by Richard Morton & Company. This beautiful basket stands on a flared beaded foot pierced with arched vertical pails. The main body is decorated with beaded bands and pierced with wave motifs, flower heads in ovals and plain vertical pails. The main body is also engraved with laurel leaf garlands.
