Solid Sterling Silver - BOX of 6 PRETTY TEASPOONS & TONGS
Complete English hallmarks showing they were made in Sheffield in 1924.
Hallmarks applied by the Sheffield Assay Office:-
Crown - Sheffield Assay Office
Lion - Sterling guarantee mark
Lower case g - Date letter for Sheffield 1924
W & H - Maker`s mark for Walker & Hall, Electro Works, Howard Street, Sheffield
A superb set of spoons and tongs, all in unused condition.
The spoon stems have reed decoration all the way round, terminating in a stylised floral display. The pattern is on both sides - called "double struck".
The tongs are similarly marked, but only on the outside.
They are stored in the original black leatherette box: bedded on black velvet, and the lid lined with white silk. All in very close to original condition.
SUPERB QUALITY - VERY CLEAN - UNUSED.
