About the Item

Beautiful rarity, Jose Marmolejos for Tane of Mexico City. Circa 1965. Most likely a baptismal cup. Beautifully crafted, with four arches, under two of which stand girls with braided hair, a basket, and one rolled up blanket or mat for a picnic. The young men wear traditional hats and each have a guitar slung over their shoulder. I think the facial features, especially of the young women, are beautifully done! Stamped: HECHO EN MEXICO STERLING 0.925 JMS (for J. Marmolejos) 925 silver (sterling silver). 113 grams DIMENSIONS approx.: Height 8.1 cm (81 mm), Inches: 3.14'' approx. Top diameter 5.8 cm (58 mm), Inches: 1.96'' approx. Diameter bottom/base 4.4 cm (44 mm), Inches: 1.57'' approx.
