Unusual Art Deco Sterling Silver Table Box With Hinged Lid

Unusual, rare, Art Deco Period, footed sterling silver table box with rounded, hinged lid, Birmingham, England, year-hallmarked for 1938, Hassett and Harper Ltd. - makers. Underside of box is all sterling silver; feet are elongated and rounded in design. Interior bottom of box is wood-lined. Underside of box is partially covered with leather. The box's engine turned design has smooth areas that are not engine turned so they look like strap-work on the box (see photos). Measures 5 1/4 inches wide x 1 3/4 inches high x 3 3/4 inches deep (at deepest point). There are a few minor dints that are commensurate with age and use (see photos) Beautifully, gracefully designed. Dark areas on sterling silver in photos are reflections. In excellent antique condition.
