William IV Silver Cream Jug by Barnard Brothers, London, 1834 A fine quality English silver cream jug, made in London in 1834 by Edward, Edward Jr., John, and William Barnard — one of the most highly regarded silversmithing families of the 19th century. This richly decorated jug is of baluster urn form, raised on a domed circular foot, and finely worked in high relief with repousse floral decoration to the lower body, alternating with leaf-tipped arches. The upper section is further embellished with a cast and applied garland of oak leaves and acorns, continuing around the body and terminating at the base of a boldly cast scrolling handle. The interior is lightly gilt. Fully hallmarked to the underside with the maker’s mark E, E.J, J.W, B for the Barnards, lion passant, crowned leopard’s head for London, and date letter “t” for 1834. Reign of William IV. Dimensions: Height: 11 cm Width (handle to spout): 14 cm Weight: 203 grams Condition: Very good antique condition. Surface wear and minor marks consistent with age and handling. No dents, splits, or repairs. Crisp detailing to decoration.

A fine and impressive, large antique George III English sterling silver cream jug made by Henry Chawner, an addition to our Georgian silver teaware collection. This fine antique George III sterling silver cream jug has an oval shaped form. The surface of the incurved panelled body is plain and embellished with a bright cut engraved oval carotuche to either side, one side bears the contemporary engraved initials' and the other remains vacant. The upper and lower rims are encompassed with applied reed decorated borders. This fine Georgian silver cream jug is fitted with a plain scrolling handle ornamented with applied moulded decoration.
