17th century turned lignum-vitae mortar
About the Item
A Charles II turned lignum-vitae mortar of flared form with ring turnings over low baluster waist to a plain foot. To the underside are fine ring turnings as seen on bronze mortars. Particularly good condition, colour and patination.
English, circa 1680
