About the Item
De Vecchi sterling silver and wood letter or napkin holder, with an inlaid seal-like motif depicting a person on a horse, all in Mid-Century Modern style with an elegant geometric design. It measures 5 7/8'' by 2 3/4'' in height by 1 1/3'' in depth and bears hallmarks as shown.
De Vecchi, a Milanese silver company founded in 1935, is highly acclaimed for its riveting designs and exquisite craftsmanship. In 1997 the Triennale of Milan exhibited ‘The language of Mirrors’, a monographic retrospective of De Vecchi works. Some of De Vecchi's pieces are collected by prestigious museums, such as the Triennale in Milano and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

De Vecchi, a sculptor and engraver, at a young age he participated in Futurism, which shared the constant research of the dynamism that he transmitted in his productions. In 1962, his son Gabriele succeeded his father at the running of the company. De Vecchi’s style is recognized and appreciated around the world.
