Emile Puiforcat French Sterling Silver Gravy Sauce Boat & Underplate in Art Deco

Emile Puiforcat, French 0.950 (higher purity than sterling) silver gravy sauce boat on an underplate, in Art Deco Style with an elegant, geometric design, the rims adorned with geometric, ribbon, and stylized natural motifs. The underplate measures 9 3/4'' in length by 6 3/4'' in depth while the sauce boat measures 7 1/2'' by 4 3/4'' and overall height is 3''. Total weight is 30 troy ounces and hallmarks are shown.
Founded in 1820 by Emile Puiforcat, the Parisian family workshop has passed down its renowned silverwork mastery from one generation to the next. It was the visionary leadership and artistic talent of Jean E. Puiforcat, the fourth generation in the workshop, that truly brought the world’s attention to Puiforcat; his design legacy was a significant contribution to the studio, and in turn a major contribution to the international Art Déco movement of his time.
