Finest Monumental Inca Royal Yupana

About the Item

Yupanas were used as calculators or abaci during the Inca Period. This is one of the finest and monumental an example of a Inca table Royal Stone Yupana or archeological Yupana, undoubtedly the best in the market. Geometric boxes compose a larger rectangle-shaped box that was used to account for the crops yielded by different villages. Seeds of small pebbles would be used for counting. Overall, there is little understanding to how exactly they were used. Very few examples with this size and condition have survived through time. Museum Piece.
