Antique American Mid-Atlantic States Yellow Slip Decorated Redware Pie Plate

About the Item

A fine antique redware pie plate. Found in Virginia. In red earthenware with 3 yellow slip wave-like devices to the center. The interior of the plate is glazed while the rim and exterior remain unglazed. Simply a wonderful early piece of early American redware! Date: 19th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There are roughly 10 small chips of varying size around the rim as well as a firing flaw, fine and light crazing throughout (most noticeable to the yellow slip), and some fritting. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Marks: Unmarked Measurements: Diameter: ca. 7 1/2 in.
